Barney and Maureen Parsons milk about 1,100 cows at Winchmore in Mid Canterbury, farming with their son and daughter-in-law. They can now take a break here and there, but Barney still wants to be on hand when decisions need to be made.
Can you manage the farm numbers from anywhere?
For Barney, that’s the point.
“This is where Focus really is a step up for us. Doesn’t matter where we are, we’re available. I can log in on any device and that’s a real game changer when decisions need to be made.”
Real-time numbers, checked daily
“Focus is a product for the times we’re now in. The package works in real time, so we always know where we’re at and, because dipping in and out is easy, you’re almost encouraged to check in daily and tweak here and there as you go.”
Barney looked at other options before choosing Farm Focus.
“My research showed Focus was far easier to use than the other main competition on offer. Just having everything up to date when you log in gives a good platform to work from especially in our line of business where nothing stays the same for long.”
Less time in the office was the goal. Being able to see where they’re at in real time, and change course when needed, turned out to be the bonus.
Still up to date today
Barney’s family still run the dairy farm’s accounts in Farm Focus. Bank feeds and Farm Source flow straight in, the Invoice Scanner handles the bills, and a working budget sits alongside the actuals. GST is filed every two months, and their accountant sees the same live numbers. Since July 2026, they can also ask the AI Farm Assistant quick questions about their actuals, plans and reports.
Every Farm Focus customer gets free onboarding and phone support from a team that knows farming, in New Zealand and Australia.
