Senior Developer 

Are you a Senior Developer with an interest in:

  • Broad and varied product development.
  • A SaaS Company based in the Wairarapa (we will also consider WFH).
  • Modern web tech stack React, Redux, GraphQL, Ruby on Rails, HTML, CSS.

Our Senior Developer vacancy offers an opportunity to be involved in the Farm Focus success story. You will be part of a medium sized team and will design technical solutions in collaboration with other developers. The role is mixed: you’ll work on new product features as well as continually improve existing features and codebase. 

This senior role requires strong communication skills at all levels. You’ll provide technical input into our design and technical road map. You’ll also be an effective mentor and guide for other developers. 

You will be well supported, working alongside an existing team of highly skilled professionals within our production innovation team. This team is made up of software developers, BA’s, UX/UI designers, testers and DevOps.

The successful candidate will also get ongoing training and development opportunities.

Our preference is an office/hybrid work model, however we will consider fully remote for the right person.

About you

Technically you will be experienced in React, along with some or all of the following:

  • HTML/CSS
  • Ruby on Rails
  • Amazon Web Services and DevOps
  • Postgres/SQL

You will also have:

  • Excellent communication skills and be able to clearly communicate technical concepts with less technical people.
  • A can do approach to problem solving.
  • Great mentoring skills with an interest in developing skills of more junior developers.
  • Good prioritisation, time and workload management skills.
