Business Operations Manager

About the role

Based in Masterton, this role reports to the Managing Director and is responsible for keeping the business operations running smoothly. The key objectives of this role are to ensure that we have the resources we need and relevant processes and policies in place to manage these. This role will also:

  • Lead, develop, and support a small team including administration and finance
  • Create and maintain key policies and processes
  • Maintain existing vendor relationships and look for value for money in our vendor agreements
  • Manage and develop the disaster recovery and business continuity and risk
  • Oversee our building and facilities
  • Provide a project management approach
  • Ensure our current business systems run smoothly
  • Research, implement and maintain new systems
  • Be the problem solver in the business

About you

You will ideally have a background in operations with an inherent technical nous and understanding; experience in SaaS would be a plus. You will have strong communication skills, as well as outstanding relationship building and leadership skills. You will also have:

  • Solid experience in creating and maintaining policies and processes
  • An ability in, and comfort with, managing third party agreements
  • A natural ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Technical understanding and ability to pick up new technologies quickly
  • Risk mitigation with an ability to identify issues early
  • Analytical experience with an eye for detail
  • Building management experience
  • Finance experience or understanding would also be a plus

You will be well organised with an ability to create plans and follow them through.  You’ll have a way with people and instinctively know how to connect the dots to enable solutions.
