Senior Developer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Ruby on Rails Software Developer to join our team.

About the role

You’ll be part of our team delivering Farm Focus products and services through hands on coding, in collaboration with other developers. The role is mixed, where you’ll work on new product features as well as modernising our existing codebase. You’ll also provide technical input into our design and technical road map and be a mentor and guide for other developers.

In addition you’ll:

• Participate in regular sprint cycle including prioritisation, estimation, refining, planning and review.
• Complete deep dives into new technology areas and features.
• Deliver features, bugs and enhancements.
• Discuss and agree technical solution design with other developers and tech lead.
• Recommend ongoing improvements to our application tech stack and developer tooling.

About you:

You’ll have demonstrated commercial experience in web application development spanning both front and backend technologies in Ruby on Rails, along with React, HTML/CSS and Postgres/SQL. You’ll have strong communication and collaboration skills and your attention to detail will be second to none. You’ll also have:

• A can do approach to problem solving, where you will be able to take complex problems, break them down and build robust solutions.
• Great mentoring skills in order to support and guide more junior developers.
• Good prioritisation, time and workload management skills.
• Be agile by adapting to changing business needs.
